Who? What? Where? When? Why? How?
Apr. 16th, 2022 01:39 pmHi, I’m Molly. I have no idea what I’m doing… welcome to my little corner of the internet
I am a 30-year-old trying out blogging for the first time & hoping I’m not too old for a new hobby. I’m a fat, pansexual, chronic pain sufferer, mental health warrior, neurodivergent, sex-positive, pagan who is trying to learn to prioritise self-care. I love fantasy, horror, science-fiction, and superheroes. I have an unhealthy obsession with chocolate, solitaire & wordsearches, have a terrible habit of never finishing a drink, and overuse adverbs like they’re going out of fashion!
I, like many many others, discovered TikTok during lockdown and somehow found myself falling into BookTok, which was awesome because I love books, I love talking about books and I love listening to other people talk about books. My girlfriend, Plum, said I should try it. I recorded one video, hated how I looked and sounded and we never talked about it ever again. A big fat nope from me
Someone mentioned their book blog, I found it and started reading. And then found more and started reading them. Plum then said why don’t I try book blogging? I thought about it but I don’t read… I hesitate to say ‘the wrong books’ but I don’t read brand new, first peeks, don’t know anything about ARCs or advance copies or publishers. Like, right now I’m reading Good Omens for the billionth time. I’m not even sure how to write a book review to be honest.
Then, the other day, some of the women in work were talking about a ’30 day self-care challenge’ they’d seen online, they emailed it round. I’ve been trying to focus on self-care after the stress of the last few years. I want to set a new ‘me’ precedent in these unprecedented times (am I the only one tired to death of both ‘unprecedented’ and ‘an abundance of caution?) so I decided to actually try and do the challenge. I have also recently discovered Action For Happiness and, appropriately since Plum and I are trying to get outside and exercise more, it’s Active April
So that’s what this blog will be about. Books, self-care, happiness and the world inside my mind.
